Week 3: October 20 - 26

This week should focus the theme: I believe.

This week, parents should review the following before teaching their children:

  • The essay “I Believe” on pages 240 - 241 of the Parent’s Guide.

  • Pages 15 - 25 of the Parent’s Guide.

  • Pages 10 - 13 of the Activity Book.

Here are some tips and reminders before you get started:

  • You are welcome to teach any content from the month that you find engaging and interesting from the books!

  • While the following recommendations are broken up by grade level, we would encourage you to find the routine that fits best for your family.

  • There may be some overlap between the content for children in different age groups that could be shared together.

  • If you have multiple children, you may find some work you can get the younger children started on, leaving you able to engage in deeper conversation with the older children.

With all children, review the monthly verse for memorization. * We encourage you to do this daily!

With young children, grades K - 2:

  • We suggest the following:

    • Activity 1: What Does It Mean to Believe? - Parent’s Guide, 17 - 18

    • Activity 4: Faith Requires Obedience - Parent’s Guide, 23

  • Review and define the words to know on page 16 of the Parent’s Guide.

With older children, grades 3 - 6:

  • We suggest the following:

    • Activity 2: What is Faith? - Parent’s Guide, 19 - 20 + Activity Book, 10 - 11

    • Activity 3: Faith is Necessary for Salvation - Parent’s Guide, 21 - 22 + Activity Book, 12

    • Activity 4: Faith Requires Obedience - Parent’s Guide, 23

  • Review and define the words to know on page 16 of the Parent’s Guide.

With teens, grades 7th - High School:

  • We suggest the following:

    • Activity 2: What is Faith? - Parent’s Guide, 19 - 20 + Activity Book, 10 - 11

    • Activity 3: Faith is Necessary for Salvation - Parent’s Guide, 21 - 22 + Activity Book, 12

    • Activity 4: Faith Requires Obedience - Parent’s Guide, 23

    • Watch and discuss the video linked below - “What REAL Faith Looks Like” by Fr. Mike Schmitz.

  • Review and define the words to know on page 16 of the Parent’s Guide.
