Sacraments
Become Catholic
We would love for you to reach out about becoming Catholic. The journey to become Catholic involves growing in relationship with the Lord, studying the teachings of the Catholic faith, entering more deeply into the community, and learning about the liturgy of the Church, The journey culminates in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation.
Mass Times
The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1324
Confession Times
Sin is before all else an offense against God, a rupture of communion with him. At the same time it damages communion with the Church. For this reason conversion entails both God's forgiveness and reconciliation with the Church, which are expressed and accomplished liturgically by the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1440
God wants to pour his life into you.
Celebrated worthily in faith, the sacraments confer the grace that they signify. They are efficacious because in them Christ himself is at work: it is he who baptizes, he who acts in his sacraments in order to communicate the grace that each sacrament signifies. The Father always hears the prayer of his Son's Church which, in the epiclesis of each sacrament, expresses her faith in the power of the Spirit. As fire transforms into itself everything it touches, so the Holy Spirit transforms into the divine life whatever is subjected to his power.
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1127

Marriage

Holy Orders
Each of us has a God-given vocation in life - a calling, something that you alone can accomplish with God's help. Do you think that God might be calling you to the priesthood or religious life? If so, reach out to Fr. Joe.
Anointing of the Sick
Anointing of the Sick is one of the two sacraments of healing and should be received when a Catholic is seriously ill. There is no need to wait until death is imminent, and so it is best to call while there is ample time to arrange a convenient time for the sacrament.
To arrange for Anointing of the Sick, call the parish office at 608-849-5121.
At some hospitals, there is a Catholic priest on call for the Anointing of the Sick. If you or a loved one is hospitalized, you should inquire as to whether such a priest is available. If not, once again, please do not hesitate to contact the parish office.
Funerals
In anticipation of the death of a loved one or upon a death, we invite you to look into the information about funeral planning in St. Maximilian Kolbe Pastorate.
