The Journey to Become Catholic

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process that helps form those seeking to become Catholic and join the Church.

This journey includes:

  • any adult not yet baptized and who wishes to become Catholic.

  • any adult baptized in another Christian denomination who wishes to become Catholic.

  • any adult baptized in the Catholic Church who has not received their first Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.

Formation Process

Formation for OCIA includes sessions that explore the Catholic faith, prayer, and community life in the parish. Formal sessions begin in early fall and meet through the Easter season. The journey to reception into the Church is unique to each individual. Our Pastorate strives to help you learn to respond to the call - not just for the day you receive Baptism or Confirmation, but every day of your life.
