Chapter 1: Courage to Love

Before you watch: we know this is an old video and the quality isn’t super modern, but we think it’s a great starting point for your discussions about growing in virtue and what you value in married life together!

Here are some extra questions you could use in dicsussion:

  • What did you find particularly striking in the video?

  • What is the distinction Dr. Sri made between virtues and values? Had you considered that distinction before?

  • What do you (or would you like to) value in your marriage? What virtues do you think are most important to cultivate to actualize those values?

Chapter 2: School of Love

Here are some extra questions you could use in discussion:

  • What did you find particularly striking in the video?

  • How do promises form the foundation of meaningful relationships? How do you see this reflected in your own relationships?

  • In what ways do promises play a crucial role in God’s relationship with His people? Can you think of specific biblical examples?

  • Reflecting on the video’s message, what is your personal understanding of the power and importance of making and keeping promises in your own life?

  • What connections can you make between the virtues focused on in Chapter 2 and this video?

Chapter 3: Support of Love

Here are some extra questions you could use in discussion:

  • What did you find particularly striking in the video?

  • How would you describe the shared mission you and your beloved are on together, side by side?

  • How have you experienced your fiancé or spouse encouraging you in your “noble and beautiful pursuits”? How can you be more “bound up in it” or closer in union as you encourage them?

  • What connections can you make between the virtues focused on in Chapter 3 and this video?
